IIT goes costly from 2013

The poor are always at a disadvantage in a country like India where everything is linked to the economic status of a person. Basic education in the nation has been a distant dream for most. Last year there was an unbelievably high hike in the fees in the Convenor quota of the Engineering and Pharmacy courses in Andhra Pradesh colleges. Now even the premium educational institutions that used to select the students based on merit for a less burdensome amount has also decided to go the usual way.

IITs Coucil has accepted the proposal of hiking the fee from an acceptable Rs 50,000 to Rs 90,000. The almost doubled fee would now be a great burden on the poorer sections of the country who strive very hard to read and get a degree from the highly reputed colleges in India.

The education system in India has time and again proved that merely skills and knowledge won't get you anywhere.
