In a tragic incident at the LoC in the Mendhar Sector of Jammu and Kashmir, the Pakistani army recreated one of the events that shook the nation to the roots in 1999 Kargil conflict. A ceasefire violation has taken its turn for the worst after one jawan was beheaded and another was mutilated. Two others were injured in the incident.
Pakistan has been feigning good relationship while the ceasefire violations seemed to be happening everyday in the Poonch sector and others at the LoC. Border action team in Pakistan Army used the fog as their leverage and cover fired to divert and trick the Indian army after there were a few who crossed into the Indian territory, 500-600m and killed two jawans, identified as Lance-Naiks Hemraj and Sudhakar Singh. They were a part of the area domination patrol in the 13 Rajputana Rifles. One person was badly mutilated while another was barbarically beheaded while the took away the head as a trophy.
The Indian fire-power which acted up on the Indian Intelligence subdued the attacks of the Pak army to prevent further damages.
Indian Army said that the Pak counterparts have crossed the line causing grave provocation again and that they would deal with the same through official channels.
Manmohan Singh has condemned the incident and said that it was disregarding the cease fire violations that were to be followed since 2003. Paks have been providing terrorists cover fire to infiltrate J&K.
“If there were 61 such violations in 2011, as many as 120 have been recorded in the last one year," one official remarked. India should not leave such incidents unquestioned and this could jeopardize the Indo-pak relationships.
