NATO airstrike kills eight civilians

In a latest airstrike, NATO has yet again killed civilians, around eight of them this time. Four of them were children and the rest were women. A number of insurgents were also killed but the officials couldn’t quote a number.

The attack occurred near the Kunar province, near the Pakistani border, an official said. The airstrike was called in as a part of a joint Nato-Afghan operation in the Shigal district.

ISAF acknowledged that it was made aware of the deaths and responded that they are trying to ascertain how the mistake occurred. In the past 11 years of war, this has been the most worrisome of incidents.
Rights of the Child, a Committee based in Geneva alleged that the ISAF used force indiscriminately and there was a lack of precautionary, a claim that was immediately refuted by ISAF.
