Kate Middleton who is very specific about her privacy in the social life usually seemed to have a bit of a lapse when it came to the issue of her baby (girl), when she accidentally almost told her that she was having a baby girl. She didn't complete the word but media could have easily taken the "d" hint for a daughter.

Kate who is pregnant with a five month baby is starting to show on her belly. The Duchess of Cambridge talking to a wellwisher has slipped up the news. When the well wisher gave her a teddy bear as a present, the unsuspecting Kate replied with formality, "I would take it for my d..." realizing her mistake midway.

Sandra Cook who was beside the woman offering the teddy recollects the tale saying, "The lady next to me gave her (Kate) a teddy bear and I distinctly heard her say: 'Thank you, I will take that for my d...'. Then she stopped herself,"

She also added, "I said to her: 'You were going to say daughter, weren't you?' She said: 'No, we don't know.' I said: 'Oh, I think you do', to which she said: 'We're not telling'."

This created a spur of new front page news in all of Britain's dailies. Quizzical Times wrote "Has Kate given the game away?" while The Mirror was pretty sure "It's a girl!". After Prince Charles and William, the baby girl would be third in line to the throne.
