A few days ago people were relieved to hear that the petrol prices were cut by more than Rs 2 after the inclusion of the VAT of each respective states and even before the happy memories started waning away, the government of India decided to hike the diesel prices slightly. The rate was upped by 45 paise exclusive of the VAT which varies from place to place.
The price which stands at Rs 48.16 after the last change occurring only on February 16th this year will be hiked by 45 paise and the VAT.
Hyderabad: Rs 52.91 + VAT
Bangalore: Rs. 53.09 +VAT
Chennai: Rs. 51.68 + VAT
The prices will be effective starting midnight.
