Singapore PM mocks Chinese environmental problems, comically

Singapore was always well known for the state of affairs in the city state, its efficient systems and the quality of life but yesterday the nation's PM showed another side that the world didn't know about- Humor.

Lee Hsien Loong passed a few comments at a party after dinner yesterday, which were caustically funny. His mockery of the Chinese problems of the environment tickled the ribs of a few US Businessmen he was addressing at Washington where he was speaking.

Talking about the smoke problem in the nation, Hsien said, Chinese people only had to open their windows if they wanted to smoke for free.

That was not the end of his small comedy show of sorts. He trespassed the pigs in the river problems of China. Recently there were several dead pig carcasses that were fished out of the Chinese rivers.

Subtly mocking the Chinese government, he said, "For pork soup, Shanghai residents can merely turn on tap water".

Few of the audience were doubtful if it wasn't insensitive of him to be talking lightly about another nation's problems to which he said, "The jokes are theirs, not mine!" Few others had the sense of humor to take it on a positive note and chuckle heartily.
