The news can instantly make you remember the character of Hannibal Lectar from the movie "Silence of the Lambs." The only difference is Hannibal was a gifted doctor with excellent knowledge about human anatomy whereas our protagonist is merely a sweeper in a hospital.
The shocking news is from Barmer, Rajasthan and the cause is clearly gross medical negligence. In the absence of doctors and nurses, a sweeper attended to an infant and chopped off the child's finger in a hospital in Barmer. He was trying to remove the stitches on the child's finger. After failing to do so, he chopped it off and tossed it in the trash. The finger still can't be found.
Meanwhile, the infant's father complained to the hospital authority only to find himself ignored and then he went to Police station for lodging a F.I.R but surprisingly Police didn't respond to his complain. It is worth mentioning that in a press release the CMO of the hospital R.K Maheshwari admitted the negligence on their part and added that the sweeper had been fired.
