Police investigation is undergoing regarding a violent outburst that went off near a firebrand monk as he was giving a religious lecture in Myanmar's second largest city as well as injuring five. The blast occurred on Sunday night during a Buddhist ceremony in Mandalay. The monk, Ashin Wirathu, is charged with a wrongdoing of encouraging violence accompanied by speeches warning that country's minority Muslim community poses a threat to Buddhist culture. In actuality he was not physically injured.
Furthermore, a police officer who spoke anonymously due to the reason that he was not empowered to speak to the media said on Monday that the violent outburst went off under a parked car about 18 metres from the monk.
