Swedish researchers announced on Tuesday heavy drinking as well as drug use in teenage years may elevate intensely their possibility of developing dementia in precedence of the age of 65.
In fact, according to a study of 488,484 Swedish men conscripted for military service between Sept 1969 and Dec 1979 at an average age of 18, alcohol maltreatment has come into existence as the strongest of nine risk factors that could be a surviving mark as far back as adolescence.
In the 37 years following their selective service, 487 of the men were diagnosed with young-onset dementia (YOD) at a median age of 54 years. Sixty-eight per cent of the YOD cases recognized could be considered to one otherwise more of the nine factors.
