Here's a piece of news that will make even the most eligible Indian bachelor go green with envy!
A 68-year-old US-based doctor is drawing a lot of "interest" these days and for a very apparent reason.
With as many as 152 wannabe brides expressing their keenness to get hitched to him, some being as young as 21-year-old, the sexagenarian is surely spoilt for choice.
Apparently, the eligible bachelor, a practicing physician in New York, was surprised to receive an overwhelming response after he put out a matrimonial ad on a website.
The doctor allegedly never married after the woman he loved refused to move with him to the US. The doctor lost his parents and sibling a few years ago and had been living alone since then.
A month ago, Dr. Shah approached the Ahmedabad-based NGO that runs a matrimonial service for the elderly."Dr. Shah needed a life partner as he couldn't bear the loneliness anymore. We put out an ad saying that a 68-year-old doctor residing in New York needs a bride who is willing to shift to the US. There is no age, caste or religion bar," said the co-ordinator of the NGO.
What followed next left everybody jaws-dropped! "We had expected around 25-30 responses that too from women aged above 45 or 50 years. But there is a mad rush to marry him. There are 152 women who are keen to marry him and shift to the US," said the coordinator.
The wannabe brides ranging from a 21-year-old Muslim girl from Surat to a 35-year-old woman from Ahmedabad, who is even ready to divorce her husband if Dr Shah agrees to marry her. "Also, there are a few who want a live-in relationship with him," he said.
Dr. Shah will visit Ahmedabad in November for his grand wedding.
