Lalu Prasad Yadav, leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal Party is convicted today. He was sentenced with 5 years jail in the fodder scam. He is also directed to pay a penalty of Rs.25 lakhs.
As per the Supreme Court's direction and as the Ordinance of the Government overriding the judgment of the Supreme Court is withdrawn, Lalu Prasad Yadav is going to get disqualified as the representative of people of his constituency as an MP.
Lalu Prasad Yadav and 44 others were found guilty by the CBI special Court on 30th September. They were all waiting for the court’s final judgment. Lalu Prasad’s close associate Jagannadh Mishra was sentenced with 4 years jail term.
RJD announced today that it will challenge the CBI Court's order in the High Court.
