The convicted Members of the Parliament for Lok Sabha RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and JD(U) leader Jagdish Sharma are disqualified by the Lok Sabha today. They both are at present spending in Birsa Munda jail in Ranchi.
After the Supreme Court’s judgement on 10th July that the convicted leaders should be disqualified from Membership from the Parliament and Assembly, this is the second incident of disqualifying the Members of the Parliament. Rajya Sabha Member Rashid Masood was disqualified yesterday.
The vacancies are notified and the Election Commission has been intimated about the vacancies due to disqualifying the Members of the Parliament.
Lalu Prasad Yadav and Jagdish Sharma were convicted in fodder scam and Masood was convicted in the case of allotment of MBBS seats from Tripura to the undeserving candidates. Lalu Prasad Yadav was sentenced for 6 years and other two are sentenced for 4 years each of the imprisonment.
