Anna Hazare Hunger Strike Reaches Second Day

The social activist and one man army against corruption in India Anna Hazare started indefinite hunger strike yesterday at his native place Relegan Siddhi demanding introduction of Janlokpal Bill in the Parliament.  It reached second day today.  Anna Hazare’s health is stable till now.

Union Minister Narayana Swamy gave assurances yesterday that the Government is keen on introducing the lokpal bill in the Parliament. Anna Hazare said that so many promises were made in the past but they were not honored.  He said that the Congress Government cheated people.

He went on morning walk as he does every day in spite of the temperature in Maharashtra that came down to 6 degrees Celsius.  Then he went to Yadava Temple in the village and sat in front of the banner on which the name of his new organization ‘Janatantra Morch’ is written.

Anna Hazare cautioned that this time if the Congress party resorts to dilly-dallying further, the voters will give a fitting verdict for that in the coming elections.

Volunteers at Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune are also sitting in the fast in token of their solidarity with Anna Hazare.
