Nandan Nilekani to join Congress party

Chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India Nandan Nilekani will take up the membership of Congress party this week and he has already done the ground work too. Nilekani is also looking for contesting in the general elections from Bangalore South urban constituency.

“I am coming on my track record. I am a clean, capable, local candidate. I was born here in Vani Vilas hospital. My father was working on Magadi Road. My house is in Koramangala and before that I was in Jayanagar and BTM Layout. I am a local candidate, clean and with a full track record,” said Nilekani talking to the media persons at a private event.

The Congress is undecided about Nilekani however he has already started visiting colleges and institutes and interacting with public. Nilekani feels that Bangalore South constituency lack something and he can fill the shoes accordingly.

Well it won't be an easy task for Nilekani if he contests from Urban constituency as BJP's Ananth Kumar has won the seat six times. Couple of months ago Nilekani name was rumored to be considered for the Prime Ministerial post by the Congress party but later it wasn't confirmed by any.
