Bharatiya Janata Party has said that it would review the Aadhar project after coming to power as it allegedly regularises illegal stay of migrants in India. BJP Spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi and MP Ananth Kumar questioned how a US based company is handling the issue of Aadhar.
Speaking to the media spokesperson Lekhi said, “Aadhaar project was dangerous and also posed a threat to the country’s security as it regularised the stay of illegal immigrants from other countries by granting citizenship to them at the cost of the welfare of genuine residents. A CBI probe into various aspects of the Aadhaar project, including the manner in which finances had been allocated for it will also be sought.”
