Narendra Modi who opted to retain Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, will resign to Vadodara seat soon. As the by-election is inevitable Modi's close aide Amit Shah is expected to contest for the Vadodara seat.

Amit Shah played a crucial role for the BJP in winning majority seats in Uttar Pradesh and BJP wants to reward him with Vadodara Lok Sabha seat as he was denied Gujarat CM post. However, Shah's concentration is on Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls and he is planning to repeat the magic.

Modi is also in favor of giving Vadodara to Amit Shah and BJP leadership will take a decision on this once the election notification is issued.
