The list of politicians making controversial statements on rapes is increasing every day. Freshly, Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil made similar statements and that too in Maharashtra legislative Assembly. Mr Patil said, even if a policeman is posted a every home in the country crime against women cannot be stopped.
Patil further added that the moral values in the society have declined and so are resulting in violence against women. The media should also be blamed for this for showing obscene content however the crime against women in Maharashtra is less compared to other states.
Coming to the measures to be taken in state to contain the crime, Patil said the state will buy 500 vehicles to stop crime against women. These vehicles, will have one woman officer each and procured in the next two months.
The opposition parties have slammed the Home Minister's comments and have demanded an apology and resignation. Defending this statements, Patil added, “women's safety is a top priority of our government.”
