Congress president Sonia Gandhi is contemplating to reshuffle the entire leadership in the party to be able to counter attack the BJP government in the Parliament. The four-member Antony committee is taking account of all the feedback from the PCCs of several states and will prepare a report which will elevate the loopholes of the Congress.
Sonia wants to reshuffle the leaders in the party before the budget sessions of Parliament start which are scheduled from July 7th. Congress could not even win single seat in Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Orissa, Goa, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. This is Congress's worst performance post Independence.
Besides this Congress displayed a poor results in Telangana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Chhattisgarh. In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the change in leadership is inevitable and both the PCCs reported a need for strong leader in the party who can reconstruct it.
With Assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana later this year, Congress is little worried about the 'Modi Wave' and is drawing strategies to restrict Modi.
