The political situations in Delhi are rapidly changing and the reason for this is, the saffron party is contemplating to form government. All the legislators of BJP have gathered at party office today and drew possibilities to form government. It is heard that independent MLAs and one JD[U] MLA is ready to support BJP in setting up the government.
To stake claim BJP requires 36 MLAs support in the house of 70 while it has only 31. But this number dropped to 28 as Harsh Vardhan, Ramesh Bidhuri and Pervesh Verma were elected to Lok Sabha in the recent general elections. New Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay is doing all the ground work needed for party to form government and if this option may not work, BJP is considering to seek fresh polls.
Meanwhile former chief minister and AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has accused BJP of doing gimmicks to come to power in Delhi at any cost. He asked why Prime Minister Narendra Modi is silent. Earlier too, AAP claimed that BJP approached its MLAs and offered Rupees 20 crores to each. However, the BJP has rubbished the claims made by the AAP leader and described him as a 'frustrated' man.
Delhi has been under President's Rule since February as Kejriwal resigned as the Jan Lokpal Bill got deferred in the Assembly. After the Lok Sabha elections, Kejriwal tried to form government but Congress has denied the support.
