
On the third anniversary of the 26/11 attacks at Mumbai, the Shahenshah of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan, launched a music album in Mumbai on Sunday. For the music album titled 'Sound of Peace', Mr. Bachchan has lent his baritone voice.
The music album that pays homage to people, who lost their lives fighting terrorism and protecting nation, features compositions by Amitabh Bachchan, singer Akon, music composer Aadesh Srivastava, classical maestro Ustad Rashid Khan, singer Shaan, Roopkumar Rathod, Pamela Lajoie and London Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.
The evening comprised of an act of admiration and felicitation as ACP Narsima Sherkhane of Maharashtra Police Force was handed over a cheque amounting to Rs. 10 lakhs for the profound courage and unconditional commitment extended by the police force during the 26/11.
"During 26/11, I had lost two dear friends. Through this music album and a concert we intend to help the families of those policemen who have suffered at the hands of terrorism," Aadesh told reporters after launching the album.
The Sounds of Peace team along with Mr. Bachchan plan to spread the message of peace, a live musical concert, conceptualized by Netsurf Entertainment, which will be held in January 2012 in Mumbai, with performances by musical maestros from across the world. Funds raised from the concert will be allocated for the families of those policemen who have suffered at the hands of terrorism.
