RailRokoIndicating the Government’s tough stand against the 3-day rail blockade being observed by the Telangana political JAC, additional DGP of the railways department Mr Kowmudi undertook an aerial survey of the moment of trains across the Telangana districts today.

Making the survey along the 1600 km length railway tracks in a helicopter provided by the Centre, Mr Kowmudi and his officers observed the rail roko agitation and video graphed the incidents and moment of trains at several places.

During the survey, Kowmudi observed lack of proper security at some places on the tracks and ordered more security forces to reach the spot immediately.

Revenue loss of Rs.30 Cr to the railways

Railway officials said they have estimated the revenue loss because of the 3-day rail roko programme to be around Rs.30 Cr.

The officials said they had restored 4 cancelled train services today after undertaking a review of the rail roko agitation. “We are trying to restore more cancelled trains,” they said.

Meanwhile, the train service of the Telangana Express was restricted to between Secunderabad and Kazipet. Originally, the train service is up to Sirpur-Kagaj nagar.
