T cong MPs stage dharna in Parliament campus

T congress MPs, dharna, Dharna at Mahatma Gandhi statue, Parliament campus Congress MPs of the T region today demonstrated at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Parliament demanding separate state of Telangana and raising Telangana slogans.

They resorted to dharna after absenting themselves from the on going budget session of the Lok Sabha following a stern advice to them by the senior congress leader and Finance Minster Pranab Mukherjee not to disturb the house proceedings. 15 MPs of the T region participated in the dharna.

Madhu Yashki Goud, who organized the demonstration of the MPs, said the government promised to hold talks with all stake holders of the Telangana issue after March 1 but was keeping silent now. “The delaying tactics are not good and we will intensify our agitation if the decision is delayed any more,” Goud warned.

Announcing support to the curtailed Million March on March 10, the T congress MPs found fault with the government’s attitude to look at the agitation as a law and order problem. Yashki said the state government has been sending false reports to the Centre on the issue of Telangana and blamed the chief minister for the development.
