Congress Party MLA, Gandra Venkataramana Reddy today claimed that the TRS chief K.Chandrasekhar Rao expressed his intention to join the ranks of the Congress Party long back. However, he hastened to add that the Congress Party will continue to be strong in the Telangana region irrespective of the TRS Party's willingness to sail us with us. He made it clear that the Congress Party is not going to gain much from allying with KCR-led TRS. Further, the Warangal MLA is confident that the Congress Party will return to power even in the new state.
We will try to impress upon the Party High Command about the need to accord statehood to the telangana region, added Gandra.
The centre should stick to its 9th Dec statement made in respect of the creation of a separate state, observed the Congress Party MLA. If the centre is not in a position to introduce the bill in the Parliament in respect of the same then it should come out with a declaration affirming the continuance of its support to 9th Dec statement, demanded Venkataramana Reddy.
Being the members of the Congress Party, we are restrained from participating in the non-cooperation programme, said the MLA.
