Viveka submits resignation

VivekanandaReddyOne day after the Government has agreed to form a Joint Legislative Committee (JLC) to probe the alleged illegalities and irregularities in the allotment of lands to various companies in the name of SEZs by the YSR regime, agriculture minister and brother of YSR Mr YS Vivekananda Reddy submitted his resignation to the chief minister Kirankumar reddy.

Viveka met the CM this morning at the latter’s camp office and handed over his resignation letter to him. The membership of Viveka in the Legislative Council ended on Tuesday. Viveka was in the news three days ago for attacking the TDP members in the house for holding and displaying placards that read YSR Dongala Mutha (YSR’s gang of thieves).

“I submitted my resignation as the opposition has been leveling allegations against me and also because of the ending of my Council membership,” he told newsmen after resigning. “Now, I am ready to face the bye elections in the Kadapa district,” he said.

Sources however said that Viveka resigned as he was angered by the government’s decision to appoint the House committee to probe the land allotments.
