Police today arrested several TRS leaders and hundreds of party activists in all Telangana districts as the pro-Telangana elements tried to lay siege to the collectorates as part of the third phase of the T agitation.

 

TRS leaders Harish Rao, Raghunandan and Ramalinga reddy were arrested along with scores of activists at Patancheruvu when they were on their way to Sangareddy Collectorate. Captain Lakshmi Kantha Rao and Etela Rajender were arrested in Karimnagar along with hundreds of TRS activists.

 

TRS leaders and workers were also taken into custody whey tried to storm District Collectorates in Nizamabad, Rangareddy, Hyderabad and other districts. In some towns, TRS cadres resorted to sit-in dharnas opposite the Collectorates and courted arrests.

 

Meanwhile, Telangana political JAC chairman Professor Kodanda ram appealed to people of Telangana not to attend the Rana Bheri of the TDP at Karimnagar today. “The meeting is a conspiracy of the pro-united AP leaders and I request the people of Telangana not to attend it,” he said in a statement.
