DamodharManoharThe congress high command, eager to revitalize the party and give strength to its government in the state, has decided to elevate Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha of the Telangana region as Deputy Chief Minister.

The party has also finalized the candidature of Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar as new Speaker of the Assembly who will be elected at 11 am on June 4 in an emergency session. After the high command decided Manohar as the party candidate for the Speaker’s post which is vacant ever since Kirankumar Reddy quit it to take over as the CM, Manohar submitted his resignation to the governor.

While Chakrapani’s name has almost been finalized as the new chairman of the legislative council, Chief Whip Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka is likely to be elected as the new Deputy Speaker of the assembly in place of Manohar. Governor may appoint former minister JC Diwakar Reddy as the pro-tem speaker to conduct the proceedings on June 4.

Reports said that minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah of the Telangana region may be asked to take over as the new PCC chief in place of D. Srinivas. The party high command may overhaul the cabinet to give a new brand image to the government, according to reports.
