Kadapa MP Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy presided over the first meeting of the central governing council of his YSR Congress party today at his residence in Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad and decided to hold the plenary meeting on July 8 and 9.
Jagan sent out invitations to several congress MLAs for today’s meeting but only 10 MLAs attended it. Party sources said the party’s stand on the Telangana and other issues would be announced after plenary session.
The central governing council decided to launch a membership drive of the party for a period of one month and intensify the agitation seeking solutions to various farmers’ problems. The meeting also adopted a resolution demanding the state government to take steps to solve the farmer’s problems.
Responding to the TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu’s challenge to Jagan to introduce a no confidence motion against the Kirankumar reddy government, the governing council clarified that it is not in a position to introduce the no-confidence motion due to lack of enough strength in the assembly but promised to extend support to any political party which introduces such a motion.
