PCC chief D. Srinivas was conspicuous by his absence today when congress candidates Nadendla Manohar and Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka filed their nominations for the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker respectively in the office of the pro-tem speaker.
While the chief minister Kirankumar reddy signed the nomination papers as the main proposer, PRP chief Chiranjeevi seconded his candidature. Some ministers also attended when Manohar submitted the papers to the pro-tem speaker JC Diwakar reddy.
The absence of Srinivas has become a topic of discussion among political circles and sources said the PCC chief is very unhappy with the style of functioning of the chief minister. He has reportedly developed a grudge against the chief minister as Kiran has not consulted him on the issue of the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
