Mr. Chakrapani and Mr Vidyasagar of the Congress were today elected as the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the AP Legislative Council respectively.

Their election was unanimous as there were no nominations from any other party for the Council posts.

Meanwhile, chief minister Kirankumar Reddy announced immediately after the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker that the congress party had proved its majority in the assembly through the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

Speaking to media persons informally in the assembly, Kirankumar said that the party leadership would take necessary disciplinary action at the appropriate time against those who are defying the party directives.
