Govt to withdraw Sai trust exemptions

Govt to withdraw Sai trust exemptions The state government is reportedly mulling withdrawal of some of the exemptions given to the Satya Sai Central Trust in view of the allegations the trust members are facing. The government has sought a report from the trust members on some of the developments that have taken place after hospitalization and death of Satya Sai Baba and may take a decision after examining the report.

The government cannot interfere in the functioning of the trust unless some of the exemptions given to it are withdrawn, according to sources.

The chief minister Kirankumar reddy on Wednesday reviewed the affairs of the Satya Sai Central Trust at a high level meeting in the Secretariat where the Endowments Minister Mr Ponnala Lakshmaiah and top officials were also present.

The CM had asked the officials to take tough stand and curtail the illegal affairs of the trust members. “The government can’t remain a mute spectator to the objectionable goings-on,” he told the officials.
