Jakkampudi passes away, leaders pay tributes

JakkampudiFormer minister and YSR congress party leader Mr. Jakkampudi Rammohana rao, 58, died of cancer disease at a private hospital in Rajahmundry on Sunday. Irrespective of the party affiliations, several local leaders of East Godavari district visited his house and paid their last respects to the departed leader.

Rammohana Rao, who has been ailing for the last six years, is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. He went to the USA for treatment of cancer but it was of no use.

Rammohan Rao won the Kadiyam assembly seat in 1989 elections as an independent candidate and contested the seat again in 1994 on congress ticket but lost the election. He won the seat in 1999 and 2004 elections and was inducted into the cabinet after the 2004 elections.

Before joining the YSR congress party recently, he worked closely with congress MP Mr Undavalli Arun Kumar.

Jagan pays tribute to Rammohana Rao

YSR Congress party Chief Mr YS Jaganmohan reddy visited the house of Rammohana Rao at Rajahmundry and paid tributes to him this morning.

Earlier, the arrival of Jagan was delayed by more than 40 minutes as the airport authorities did not permit his plane to land at Rajahmundry due to inclement weather.
