A day after Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy met the PM Dr Manmohan Singh in Delhi and urged him to take decision in favour of forming Telangana state, pro-Telangana activists today laid a siege to his house in Hyderabad demanding his immediate resignation from the Union Cabinet.
The activists told journalists that the resignation of Jaipal reddy, who has now turned pro-Telangana, will put more pressure on the Centre and the congress high command for agreeing to the formation of Telangana state.
However, the activists were arrested by the Jubilee Hills and sent to different police stations. They were later released on the outskirts of the city.
Jaipal reddy on Friday told Prime Minister that it was high time that the separate state was formed as packages and development boards would not satisfy the Telangana people.
