As his efforts to launch a joint agitation along with other political parties failed, Telangana political JAC convener Prof. Kodanda Ram today announced further course of agitation for achieving Telangana.
Speaking to media persons after a 3-hour meeting of the JAC steering committee in Secunderabad, Kodanda Ram said that there would be a Vanta-Vaarpu programme across Telangana except in Hyderabad on July 12 and a rail roko on July 14.
He also announced a general strike from August 1 in which, he said, Telangana employees of state and central governments, private organizations, RTC employees, workers of Singareni Collieries, lawyers, students and others will participate in full capacity.
Prof. Kodanda Ram said that the Telangana Employees’ Associations will serve a strike notice on July 13 and launch the strike from August 1. Alleging that some forces are trying to bring about a divide in the T agitation, he asked the TDP president to make his stand clear on the division of the state.
The JAC convener also requested the ministers who have resigned not to attend to their duties in the secretariat. “From July 15, we will also create awareness among the people about the necessity of going for a general strike from August 1,” he said.
