Sai-founded college in trouble

babaThe Satya Sai Baba-founded College in Jaipur has run into financial problems and services of 15 lecturers were terminated soon after the death of Satya Sai Baba.

The management of the college said in a press note in Jaipur today that the financial stress has made them remove the 15 lecturers from service. However, the staff rejected the claim of the management and said that the Jaipur Sai College was funded up to 90 per cent by the government as it was an aided college.

“The Sai Trust bears only 10 per cent of the total expenditure of salaries and 90 per cent of it comes from the government,” they said adding that the management has been paying them only 66 per cent of the salaries since 2008.

The college was established by Sri Satya Sai Baba some years ago as part of his efforts to provide educational facilities in some backward areas of the country.
