The Nampally criminal court of Hyderabad today granted bail to the cine producer Chillara Kalyan who is in judicial custody after being arrested in several cases including criminal intimidation, cheating and extortion.

The court granted bail to him on furnishing a surety amount of Rs.25, 000 and two personal sureties from two persons.

Kalyan was arrested in Chennai some days ago and brought to Hyderabad by the CID police which are investigating three cheating and intimidation complaints lodged by different persons. While Kalyan denies any links with Bhanu Kiran, the prime suspect in the murder case of faction leader Maddelacheruvu Suri, police say he was in close contact with Bhanu Kiran even after the murder of Suri.

Several media reports indicated that he was holding properties worth hundreds of crores of rupees as a benami for Bhanu Kiran.
