Dalit organizations in Amalapuram town of East Godavari district today condemned the behaviour of the TRS leader Mr Harish Rao who lost his temper and beat up Mr Chander Rao, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the AP Bhavan in Delhi.
Condemning the incident, activists of the Dalit organizations came on to the roads in Amalapuram and raised slogans against Harish Rao and TRS.
Under the instructions of Mr. Rajit Bhargava, Resident Commissioner of AP Bhavan, Mr Chander Rao refused permission to bring into its premises the dead body of Adi reddy who committed suicide in Delhi on Wednesday.
As heated arguments followed, Harish Rao beat up Mr Chander Rao, who is a Dalit employee who belonged to the East Godavari area.
“We follow the instructions of our superiors and you have not right to beat us,” the aggrieved employees told the TRS leaders and resorted to a dharna in AP Bhavan.
Taking umbrage to the behaviour of Harish Rao, the Dalit leaders said that Mr Chander Rao simply followed his duty. “Harish Rao has no right to beat up the employee,” they said and demanded action against the TRS leaders.
