The Telangana bandh, sponsored by the Telangana political JAC, failed to evoke expected response in Hyderabad city while it was total in other Telangana districts today.

The JAC called for the bandh protesting against the Government’s decision to invoke the ESMA against the employees who gave a notice for the strike and also opposing the stance of the AP Bhavan in Delhi in not allowing into its premises the dead body of Yadi Reddy who committed suicide for the sake of Telangana.

In Hyderabad, normal life was not affected with APSRTC running its services as usual and most of the eateries, shops, restaurants and other business establishments remaining open across the city except in the localities around the Osmania University. Private and Government offices including banks functioned normally in most places.

However, RTC ran only skeleton services to the districts and other outward destinations. Long distance travelers were the worst sufferers due to the bandh. In the rural Telangana area, the bandh was of course was successful.
