Decision on T after conclusion of talks: PC

chidambaramMaking a fervent appeal to all concerned to let the process of discussions on Telangana conclude peacefully, Home Minister P. Chidambaram said today that the government would take a suitable decision on Telangana after the conclusion of talks.
Participating in a debate on the issue of Telangana during a calling attention motion introduced by the BJP in the Lok Sabha, the Home Minister said discussions were going on to find a solution to the sensitive issue of Telangana and talks should be allowed to take place and reach a logical conclusion.
Observing that the December 9 statement was made as the all party meeting decided in favour of Telangana, Chidambaram sought to explain that the Centre had to go back on the statement as the Seema Andhra people had opposed the idea of division and launched an agitation.
“We had to initiate the process of discussions on the issue as the six recommendations of the Justice Sri Krishna Committee could not find favour with the concerned,” he said.
"Out of the 8 political parties in AP, BJP, CPI and TRS were favouring the formation of Telangana while CPM is opposing the division. There is no unanimity among the rest of the parties,” said Chidambaram, adding that talks only could bring out a solution to the nagging issue.
He asked the Telangana youth not to resort to suicides for the sake of Telangana as the Government was committee to find a solution through talks.
