TDP chief and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today found fault with the action of his party’s Telangana Forum leaders in meeting the Minister and Telangana Congress steering committee leader K. Jana Reddy for discussing the Telangana issue.
Expressing his unhappiness over the TDP Forum leaders’ meeting with Jana Reddy this morning, Chandrababu told them they shouldn’t have gone to the residence of Jana Reddy to discuss the issue.
“It is the responsibility of the Congress party to decide on the Telangana issue but they are silent. Where is the necessity for you to meet them in this connection?” he seemed to have asked the Forum leaders as part of the earful he gave them soon after his return from Tirupati.
TDP Forum leaders led by its convener Errabilli Dayakara Rao met Jana Reddy at his residence and asked him and other congress leaders to come forward to quit en masse their assembly and Parliament seats for achieving Telangana state.
They later announced that Jana Reddy was willing to fight for the cause of Telangana leaving aside the party affiliations. “We will take up a joint struggle together for getting T state,” said Dayakara Rao after the meeting with Jana Reddy.
However, the TDP high command wants its T region leaders to take up the struggle for Telangana independently and not in unison with other parties.
