The fasting season is going to hit back the AP state with a big bang with speculation doing the rounds that the TRS boss and the chief protagonist of the separate Telangana state, Mr KCR, may once again launch his fast unto death from October 2, Gandhi Jayanthi demanding Telangana formation.

There were also hints from his son K. Taraka Rama Rao and daughter Kavitha who said KCR was discussing the issue with senior party leaders and well wishers. “He will soon announce his decision,” they told media persons in Hyderabad today.

Sources said that KCR has already decided to launch his fast unto death from the Gandhi Jayanthi and only held formal consultations with his family members and senior leaders on the issue.

The decision may be announced officially shortly, according to sources.

KCR created a flutter in November 2009 by undertaking fast unto death for the first time for the sake of Telangana. The Centre in fact announced the Telangana state on December 9, 2009 on the 11th day of his fast.

The Centre of course went back on its promise two weeks after the announcement saying that that there was no agreement among the political parties of the state on the division of the state.

Though the family members are advising KCR against taking up the fast, KCR seems to be hell bent on launching it to boost up the on-going mass general strike.

TDP Telangana forum leaders to fast

TDP Telangana Forum announced today that some of its leaders will undertake one day fast in Hyderabad demanding the formation of the Telangana state.

TDP leader and former minister Mr Kodela Siva Prasada rao also announced that he would soon undertake fast demanding solution to the farmers’ problems.
