Mild tension prevailed at the one-day fasting camps of the TDP Telangana Forum in some of the Telangana towns today as the TRS cadres tried to attack the fasting leaders.
The main attempt was made at Palakurthi of Warangal district where the TDP Telangana Forum convener, Mr Errabilli Dayakara rao sat on fast in support of the mass general strike that has been going on for the last 11 days for attaining Telangana state.
Police intervened at the right time and used force to chase away the TRS and other pro-Telangana cadres who tried to attack Dayakara rao demanding TDP leadership to make its stand clear on Telangana first.
The TRS activists began arguing wildly with the TDP leaders and workers present there raising tempers high. Police warned them to leave the place and finally lati-charged them as they didn’t yield to warnings.
TRS cadres also tired to attack the fasting leaders Mr Motkupalli Narasimhulu and Ramana somewhere else. Some lawyers were taken into custody and later released when they tried to stop the hunger strike of the TDP MLA Ms. Annapurnamma at Armoor of Nizamabad district.
