Gali Janardhan reddy, who was arrested and jailed in the Chanchalguda jail in the illegal mining case, has come out with an unusual request to the jail authorities.
As a penance for his sins committed through the alleged illegal mining activity in AP and Karnataka, Janardhan reddy requested the jail authorities to give him permission to conduct Rudrabhishekam and annadanam (poor feeding) in the jail premises on Masa Shivaratri day on Sept. 26.
He also requested the authorities to accord him permission to get a priest from outside to conduct the Rudrabhishekam and Aarudra Nakshtra Poojas in the jail premises.

Caught unawares by the unusual request, the jail officials told the mining mafia czar that they could not grant permission for such an activity in the jail on their own and would give their decision after consulting the higher authorities.
Ever since he was jailed, the tainted former Karnataka minister turned seemingly spiritual and was spending most of his time at the temple of Lord Shiva situated opposite to his barracks in the prison. He was also continuously reading spiritual books given by the visitors to the jail.
It will be known only on Monday whether Gali will be permitted to conduct the special poojas in the jail premises as requested by him.
