In a sue motto action, the High Court today took note of the Textiles Minister Sankara Rao’s allegations that the Home and Excise Ministers have been indulging in corruption and the Home Minister is selling the posts of her department.
Expressing the opinion that the matter is worth CBI investigation, Justice L. Narasimha reddy referred the matter to another bench for taking a decision on the issue.
Sankara rao on Monday alleged in a media conference that Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy is selling the posts in the police department unabashedly and she would soon go to jail. “The Home Minister’s brother and son are making crores of rupees by selling the posts of ACP and CI. The ACP posts are being sold for Rs. 15 lakh to Rs.20 lakh and the CI posts for Rs.10 lakh,” alleged the minister.
“The CM must intervene and stop the corruption of the Home Minister before October 2 or else I will quit my post and take up the fight against her,” he threatened. He said he has already written a letter to the CBI director seeking an investigation into her illegalities in the outer ring road formation. “Soon her corruption will be exposed,” said Mr Sankara rao adding that even the excise minister is also indulging in corruption.
