to be capital for both states?

HyderabadIn the wake of the mass general strike being intensified, the Centre has worked out on a formula for finding solution to the Telangana issue and will unveil it in the coming days, according to sources.

The solution is said to consist of proposals that the state can be divided into two and Hyderabad will continue to be the capital city of both Seema Andhra and Telangana for some period, say  five or ten years, till both states develop their own capital cities. After that, Hyderabad will be made into a Union Territory permanently.

As long as Hyderabad continues to be the capital city of both states, the income generated from the Hyderabad city will be distributed to the two states till they establish their own capital cities. Before distributing the Hyderabad income to the two states, the requirements of Hyderabad city would be met first and the balance only will be distributed.

The Centre is also thinking of pushing this solution forward in top gear irrespective of agreement among the warring stake holders of Andhra Pradesh. As a last resort, the Centre is also thinking of imposing president’s rule in the state if it can’t push ahead with the proposals.

The Centre may soon call all warring groups in AP to Delhi and put forward this proposal before them for their approval and in case nothing comes out, it may opt for imposing president’s rule in the state.
