CPM general secretary Mr Prakash Karat today wrote a letter to the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Sigh asking him to resolve the Telangana issue immediately.
Observing that the administration has come to a halt across the Telangana region thanks to the mass general strike by more than 4 lakh employees, Karat said the Centre must give top priority to the Telangana issue and find an amicable solution to it at the earliest.
“If you go on delaying solution to the issue in the name of talks and discussions, the situation in Telangana will further deteriorate which is not at all advisable,” said Karat in his letter. Attacking the Centre over its failure in finding a solution though the issue is pending for a long time, the CPM leader has questioned the necessity of conducting talks again on Telangana when the Justice Sri Krishna Committee toured the state and submitted a detailed report six months ago.
