Congress leader of the Telangana region and Karimnagar MP Mr Ponnam Prabhakar today called upon the Telangana people to boycott the AP Formation Day celebrations on Nov 1.
Addressing a media conference in Karimnagar, the MP said that Nov 1 is a dark day for Telangana people and no son of the Telangana soil should participate in the celebrations. “The T congress MLAs have said they would not participate in the official celebrations and it is a good sign,” he said.
The MP spoke to journalists after his attendance in the court in the case registered against him following his escape from the police custody when he was arrested during the recent rail roko agitation. The court adjourned hearing till January 24.
Suggesting that all people, including teachers, government employees, lawyers, doctors, people’s representatives and students should boycott the celebrations, Prabhakar said it would be suicidal for Telangana people to participate in the official celebrations of the AP Formation Day.
“Participation by the MLAs and Ministers in the celebrations will send wrong signals to the Telangana people,” he said.
