The cabinet ministers of the state are supposed to meet today in the capital after a gap of seventy five days, the longest gap in the last decade without any election code in place. The meeting is to commence in the evening. All ministers except Ponnala Lakshmaiah who is on an international tour and Jana Reddy who is away in Delhi, are to participate in the debate. Participation of the Minister Shankar Rao, who was always criticizing the cabinet in the recent times, is speculative.
The main issues on the agenda are supposed to be about the successful implementation of the Raccha Banda Scheme and its various welfare initiatives to the poor. The meeting foresees many issues to be given a node by the cabinet. Another hot topic would be khariff prices and the planning for the rabi season, which would also include the assessment of famine situation in the state. One rupee per kilo rice scheme for the poor is also to get a green signal from the cabinet during this debate.
State government employees are looking forward for enhancement in DA, which should also be taken up during the meeting, as the central had issued the DA to the employees in June itself.
