Mr Vara Prasad, brother of Silk Smitha, the late south Indian sex queen, today filed a petition in the AP High Court seeking directions to stop the release of the movie ‘The Dirty Picture’ which is reportedly based on her life and times.
Mr Prasad sought directions to the Film Censor Board to withhold permissions for the exhibition of the film slated for release on Dec 3 across India and abroad.
The petitioner listed producers Ekta Kapoor and Sobha Kapoor, director Milan and the production house Balaji Tele Films as defendants in the case.
Mr Vara Prasad created sensation a few days ago by disclosing that he had served notices to the film makers and was planning to serve second notice as there was no reply to the first one. He even threatened to approach the high court to stop the release of the film as the film makers had depicted the role of his sister in the most obscene manner.
“Going by the news reports appearing in news papers and telecast by the TV channels, the story of the move is based on my sister Silk Smitha. Her character was portrayed in the most obscene manner. Such scenes must be removed before its release,” he petitioned the court, accusing the film makers of making the movie without the family’s permission.
The film, in which Vidya Balan donned the role of Silk Smitha, has already created sensation with its item numbers.
