CBI Joint Director Mr VV Lakshminarayana said today they would launch preliminary investigation against the alleged illegalities of the TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu during his regime as Chief Minister and also into his alleged illegal properties after receipt of 8 sets of petition copies from the petitioner.
“We have received the High Court orders and will form a special group to launch the probe,” he said soon after arrival in Hyderabad from Delhi. “But we have yet to receive the 8 sets of copies of the petition from the petitioner. We will begin whenever we receive them,” Lakshminarayana said.
He said they would submit the report within the stipulated three months as directed by the High Court and the CBI, Enforcement(ED) and other agencies would conduct separate investigations.
Lakshminarayana went to Delhi to attend the Supreme Court hearing on the illegal mining case. He also participated in a high level CBI meeting wherein the progress of several cases was reviewed.
