Chandrababu files petition in HC

TDP chief and former chief minister Mr Chandrababu Naidu today filed a petition in the state High Court seeking vacation of its earlier orders directing the CBI to probe the allegations that he had resorted to illegalities and indulged in favors to Eenadu group chairman Ramoji Rao, industrialists Sujana Choudary, Nama Nageswara rao and civil contractor CM Ramesh and others during his stint as CM.

Chandrababu in his petition pointed out that he was not given any option to put forth his point of view or respond to the allegations mentioned in the PIL filed by the Pulivendula YSR Congress MLA Vijayamma making allegations against him and 12 others including his family members.

Chandrababu had alleged that Vijayamma had filed the petition with political and ulterior motives and appealed to the court to cancel its earlier orders of preliminary investigation.

Already, Eenadu group chairman Ramoji Rao, industrialists Sujana Choudary, Nama Nageswara rao and civil contractor CM Ramesh had filed separate petitions in the HC seeking vacation of its earlier orders.

Chandrababu’s wife Bhuvaneswari and son Lokesh Naidu are also expected to file separate petitions in the HC.

The high court issued the orders on a petition filed by the Pulivendula YSR Congress MLA Vijayamma making allegations against 13 persons including Chandrababu, his family members, and friends and TDP leaders.

Meanwhile, CBI today issued notices to Chandrababu Naidu, his wife Bhuvaneswari and son Lokesh Naidu beginning its preliminary investigation into his alleged illegal properties. (JUBS)
